2. Review sources

Qatar Embassy Website

This Website seems to have alot of facts and many reliable sources to its' facts. One of the other things that I wanted to state was that I honestly doubt that of the facts that the website contains I honestly doubt that they would lie about the information that is stated on their website because there would be no need to or if they did and someone found out many people would complain, I think that the laws that are set on the website seem to be reliable because I have checked on other websites and they seem to be all the same on the other websites that I have checked on.

Investment Promotion Department

The information on this website I have found to be rather infomercial like, more of an advertisement website rather than a site that would state facts to show people truth, it seems to be more of a website that is trying to have people come to the country for profit.

 Qatar Labor

I like the way this website is set up, no advertisements, no fancy decoration or anything, just plain vanilla information. I like the fact that the main focus is the information that is set on the page, not on anything else that is distracting.

Laws for India

I seem to find this site to be very brief in the information that it gives, not enough indepth info to truely actually understand what it is their talking about. Also I find it to be not enough to the the point, for example they will be talking about one thing then immediately jump to another subject.

Indian Embassy

Although it's a very beautiful site with much information about india, it did not contain the information that i needed for my project, aswell as i though it was more commercialy based and was really ment for people to want to go to india rather than just stating facts, although they did a very good job because india looks to be beautiful.

Qatarsucks.com

I loved this site, I found it to be very useful because all the information that is on this person's blog is said to be purely facts, whether thats true or not is not the point, it's that the entire website is just purely information that is incredibly useful for my project.

Qatar living, Wages

I found this website to be exact and straight to the point, no off side distractions just straight to the facts.

Qatar Visitor

Very good information but again I found this website to be too advertisementy, and more to convince you to come to qatar rather than stating facts about qatar. Although it has a very good section for expats seeking work I did not find this website useful.

b.) I chose this to see how much the wages were in qatar for workers

c.) Although they might not state all the facts, what ever information that is on their website is most likely going to be all if not most fact

d.) I chose this to see what the Qatari labour laws were and am going to contrast with what other sources say

Two hundred Asian laborers working for a Qatar mega project have been left without water, food and electricity for more than a week

The plight of Asian workers - ill treated and denied basic rights by their local employers

Nepalese laborers are employed mainly in the construction and energy sector for wages as little as 500 Qatari riyal per month.

The volunteers said a group of Asian and Western residents heard of the workers' plight and visited them during the past week and bought them water, food and medicines.

None of the local authorities, labor department officials, diplomats at the Nepali embassy or human rights officials has intervened or looked into the issue, the volunteers claimed.

No labor may be recruited without the approval of the Department of Labor, and vacancies must be offered first to Qataris, second to Arabs, and only then to foreigners, who comprised 85% of the workforce in 1992.

In 2001, the unemployment rate was 2.7%.

About 70% of the economically active population is engaged in industry (largely oil-related), commerce, and services

Trade unions are prohibited, and strikes are permitted only after the case has been presented to the Labor Department of the Ministry of Civil Service

8. Compare and contrast your sources together

Qatarsucks.com This is a site that is differant than all the others, because it is someone's personal blog where the person puts information on his blog about qatar. I think the site could be very reliable because I personaly believe that if this person has spent this much effort on showing people that Qatar "sucks" than why would he make up some of the information, thats just my opinion.

Qatar living, Wages This website is quiet similar to the other three exept for Qatarsucks.com, it has the same formating as Qatar labor, because it is very straight to the point, no distractions it just states what the wages are for the work you do here in Qatar.

Qatar Embassy Website I found this website to be rather differant in the way the information was given, it seemed to be based mainly on government speech rather than puting the information in a way that everybody could understand, although I understood most of it, there were some parts where it completely passed me. But there was plenty of good information given.

Qatar Labor This was the website that I found to be incredibly similar to Qatar living, Wages, because of how the information was given, just straight to the point. I found those two websites to be the most helpful in the way that you did not have to scout around the website to find the information you were looking for.

Language Arts Question Write Ups

1. Did you evere start out with a proper education?

I asked this because in my song I want people to truely grasp how unfortunate some people are, and hopefully have the fortunate people truely realize how lucky that are and not take it granted.

2. How does it feel to be ignored?

I wanted people to see how others react to their own actions

3. How many hours do they work?

For people to see how much people to have to suffer working the unfair hours that they do.

4. Why did they leave their home country?

To show people how awful their homes were and to hopefully have someone take action to eventually change those conditions

5. Why are they living this way?

To show people that they have no other option as to why these people are living the way they are.

The main point that I am hoping to get across in my song is to have people become aware of how these people are living and have people want to help the less fortunate, and hopefully have people become aware if not more aware of their surroundings and never take anything for granted.
